Well ok so for my first WI on this blog this is not the best, this week I put on 3lbs (current weight 9st 4lbs)!! I deserved it though was my boyfriends birthday last weekend and I ate and drank loads so am not feeling too bad about it. Will get myself back on the straight and narrow this week and hopefully week 2 of blog WI will be much better. As long as I dont reach my WW restart trigger weight of 9st 7lbs I will be happy with whatever each WI brings, I am on maintain after all.
Today I went to the gym and did my program again, I have to say it is so long that i am getting bored with it already and it is only the second time i have done it. There are a couple of exercises in it which i just can't be doing with (Weighted lunges and kettleball squats), they take too long as there are loads of reps and although I know that no one is interested in what i am up to I feel a bit foolish in doing them. I think I will skip them altogether next time as it started to stress me out today.
On the way back from the gym i bought a body fat analyser that was reduced in lloyds as my scales dont monitor it. I have found that the more I exercise I do the more the scales don't motivate me as they either stay the same or go up so am going to keep an eye on my body fat and my measurements to keep my motivation high.

OH MY GOODNESS.................
My new gym program is a nightmare, i was there for what seemed like days (was in fact only 50 minutes). I am sort of pleased because after my last program i never really felt like i had been to the gym it was just not challenging - however this one is definately challenging so much so I couldnt complete it and this morning I ache in places that I didnt know had muscles to ache!!. I will persevere and look forward to the day I can complete the whole program it will be fantastic! Mind you by then i will probably be due a review and it will be made even harder - Doh!!
To make matters worse at the gym last night a work colleague who I had never seen at the gym before came and said Hi just as i was about to collapse on a rowing machine. She looked like the most glamourous gym goer i had ever seen, all colour coordinated with a perfect ponytail and made the cross trainer look like a stroll in the park. I on the other hand looked very unccordinated and gangly on the machines, forgot my racer back bra so had my own pet hate of showing bra straps, had odd socks on (forgot my new program included leg raises!!!) and was doing a very convincing impression of a ribena berry!! Note to self: go to gym straight from work 6.30 is not a good time.

Weight watchers WI
For the last 14 months or so I have been following the weight watchers diet, and after losing 2 stone I am finally where I wanted to be - in size 10 jeans! :). The picture to the left is me before WW last August and was the reason for me starting the diet in the first place.
I have made the decision to cancel my WW online subscription as I dont use it half as much as i used to so seems like a bit of a waste of money at the moment and if i need to do it again i can just re-subscribe.
Therefore I have decided as the power walking and training will also help me maintain my weight that I will also record my WI on this blog on a Thursday morning. Nothing like a bit of public humiliation to keep me on the straight and narrow! This picture is also always a good motivator for me to move away from the chocolate box!
Tomorrow I am off to the gym to try out my new program, considering i ache from just the setting of the program I am thinking it could be painful x

My plan for next week.........
Yuck!! I hate it when the clocks go back, dont mind the extra hour in bed but hate it getting dark so early.
My current goals are to improve my fitness levels ready for when i start my walking training in the new year, I had a new gym program set today to help me in doing this. The program includes the treadmill for a bit of interval training (10 mins), lateral stepper (10 mins), rowing machine (10 mins), some squats and lunges, gym ball crunches, the plank and 3 weight machines. Sounds awful dosent it! The main aims of the program are to increase fitness, strengthen my legs and tone up. I will report back just how awful and how long it takes after i complete it for the first time tomorrow!
Right, todays is a quick(ish) blog to record what exercise I have done this week and my plan for next week. Last week looked like this:
Monday - Aqua aerobics
Tuesday - Walked 1.5 miles on treadmill (25 mins)
Friday - Walked 1.3 miles at lunch time (23 mins)
Saturday - Walked round park - no idea of distance - more leisurely stroll than power walk though.
Sunday - Gym (even though was just having program set and didnt do the full thing I still feel like i have done a work out - not a good sign!!)
The plan for next week is:
Monday - Gym
Wednesday - Gym
Friday - Gym
Sunday - Gym
As the weeks go on I am going to start mixing in some lunchtime & weekend walks, but for this week at least I am concentrating on the Gym as I think this new program is going to be quite tough to start with.
Right I am tired after a long weekend so am off to bed, night all and good luck with your training next week

My First Blog (Ever!!)
Until very recently exercise played no part in my life at all apart from a walk to the shops or to the office from my car. In March this year though that all changed and in a flash i was a member of a gym going 3 times a week and signed up for 2 runs. 1 at 10k and 1 at 5k, both with my Moonwalk companion, Emma.
It was on one of these Runs (well more like walk/jog/walks) that Emma and I discovered that we both always fancied doing the moonwalk but had never got any further than saying it out loud. It was then we decided that we would sign up for 2009, I registered with the website to be notified of the application date and now a good few months later we both have confirmation emails and are excited at the prospect of being part of such an amazing event for a such a worthwhile cause.
We decided upon the half marathon this time due to us not being very fit (yet!!) and the prospect of 26 miles being just to much for us to cope with this time round, but have already said that if this goes well 2010 will be the year of the marathon for us. Emma and I work together so from Monday next week we are going to transform our usual sarnies at our desks to walks round the block in preperation.
I have found the facebook group for the Moonwalk so encouraging and has made me even more excited to be taking part. Reading the stories and tips everyone is sharing is great and think that it will be a great source of encouragement and motivation whilst preparing for the run. Just seems so far away at the moment though i am sure it will be upon us before we know it.
Anyway think I have waffled on quite enough for my first post and if you have read this far thank you, you are very patient :). All for now C x
